Newsletter 44 - Autumn 2005

Editorial news:  David Allen
The biannual editorial offering from Chris Currie was invariably the first indication that a Newsletter was due, and it was no surprise to me that Neil Rushton found a disk with an article, a letter and a prepared piece of editorial, on his desk.  These are offered in full here.  In addition, there is a piece by George Campbell reflecting on his excitement at discovering W G Hoskins’s seminal work ‘The Making of the English Landscape’  and his dismay at not being able to entice him to Nuneaton.

The job of Landscape Section Editor will be filled, for the time being, by Mike Broderick
and his contact details are

8 Purcell Close, Brighton Hill, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG22 4EL
Tel: 01256 351624
e-mail: wbroderick@lineone.net

Mike would like to emphasise that he is only acting editor and that the Section needs a new person to fill the post as no-one else on the committee can take on the task.  He would also welcome any memories of Chris that members would like to contribute for future publication.
