On 10th October, 2005,  at Ottakar's, Basingstoke, the Basingstoke Archaeological & Historical Society is launching a new book. Taking the Pulse of Basingstoke is based on memories recorded by Basingstoke Talking History from a variety of patients and health workers’ experiences, including ‘Before the National Health’ and ‘On the National Health’, right up to the present day.
