Inaugural Postgraduate Research Conference 2017

Venue: Science Lecture Theatre, Peter Symonds College
Date: Saturday 14th October 2017, 10.00 am - 4.30 pm

The Hampshire Field Club and Archaeological Society has organised the ‘Inaugural Postgraduate Research Conference’ in order to:

• Present the variety of research undertaken by postgraduate research students from four leading universities in or near Hampshire.  This research ranges from the Neolithic to the cultivation of a sound body and mind in 19th Century Winchester. 
• Raise the profile of the Field Club with PhD / post graduate students and amongst academics supervisors.
• Give students experience in giving a paper at a conference

• 10.00 Dawn Cansfield (Winchester): Early Neolithic mortuary practice in Hampshire & Beyond
• 10.20 Katy Whitaker (Reading): Understanding Sarsen Stones
• 10.40 Adam Sutton (Reading): Late Iron Age Pottery Production and Techniques in Southern Britain
• 11.00 Plenary Session: There will be an opportunity to put questions to the first three speakers.
